WHAT IS NEW MEDIA ?

1. Podcast, iPods, MP3 players, Tivo, Ustream videos are all apart of new media. I believe that to the "New Media" the internet is extremely important inorder for them to function. Every file that is used on these technologies utilizes the internet. The 'New Media" is allowing its viewers to view message immediately as soon as it post on the internet. It allows its viewers to go past the gate keepers and discuss stories or shows in a public sphere. The "New Media" may out shine "Old Media" because of its speed to distribute to its viewers. Old media may take a day or two to catch up. This presents "Old Media" the opprotunity to catch up by making it easier to access their information if they interact with "New Media"(watching tv on a laptop).
